The Big Sky Open is the best shoot in the Northwest and we know how to show you a good time! Free food for shooters on Thursday and Friday nights with a hosted bar. In addition we provide free coffee and rolls in the morning. Lunch is available for a modest price through our club kitchen. You won't find a better deal anywhere!
Preregistration
We encourage everyone to preregister. The shoot has filled up in the past and we want to make sure we have a spot for everyone. You can preregister by clicking on the following link and sending and email to Squadding . Please include the names of the shooters on your squad, the order, and your 1st and 2nd choice for the rotation you would like. All 4-gun shooters will be given preference in setting up squads and shoot times. When you arrive at the club and sign up you will receive a free Big Sky participation prize donated by the following sponsors: The Blind Guy (Lynn Cogdill); Counter Solutions (Gary Janssen); Tom Layne M.D.; The Silver Dollar Bar; The Desperado Bar; Montana Headwall (Lynne Foland); BF Cases (Kerry Newcomer); and Hoyt Homes, Inc. We will have our traditional pig roast on Saturday night and will be giving out door prizes including a Beretta Ulrika 2 12-Gauge Shotgun, and a Two-Barrel Travel Case by BF Cases (Kerry Newcomer). You must be present to win, so don't miss out.
Practice: Fields will be open starting on Thursday afternoon and evening for practice. We anticipate that the fields will be full during the day with registered shooting, so practice during the shoot will be limited to early mornings after the field maintenance is complete.
Schedule
Thursday, July 5th: Practice and registration will begin at about 12:00pm. Missoula Trap and Skeet will provide free hamburgers and beer for dinner.
Friday, July 6th: Event 1: Preliminary - 100 12 Gauge Targets, Fee $39.00
Event 2: Doubles 50 Pairs, Fee $39.00
Friday Evening: Following the shooting events on Friday there will be a hosted bar with hors d'oeuvres.
Jackpot Shoot off. Anyone that shoots the 12 gauge event is eligible to participate and it is FREE. Shoot offs at stations 3, 4, 5 based on your 12 gauge class. Prize for 1st place is a case of shells and 2nd place wins 5 boxes.
Saturday, July 7th: Event 3: 12 Gauge - 100 Targets, Fee $39.00
Event 4: 28 Gauge - 100 Targets, Fee $39.00
Saturday Evening: Roast Pig Dinner $12.00 per person - includes a hosted bar.
Door Prizes: After dinner there will be drawings for door prizes based on your competitor number. After all prizes are drawn, all numbers will be put back in the "GRAND PRIZE" drawing. There are two prizes this year. The first is a Beretta Ulrika 2, 12 Gauge Shotgun and the second is a Two-Barrel Hard Travel Gun Case donated by BF Cases from Missoula, Montana. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.

Notices
- A note of special interest to some of our past shooters. The voice calls have been retired. There will be real live pullers on the field for every round.
- NSSA and MSSA day fees are included in the fees.
- Empties may be picked up by squad members after each flight.
- All targets will be shot on one field.
- If 76 or more shooters are scheduled, an 8:00am flight will be added for those entering late.
- Four-gun shooters get first preference on flight assignments.
- NSSA rules govern all shooting.
- Ties will be shot off Doubles at stations 3, 4, 5 miss and out by station.
- Classes for 12 Ga, HOA, and HAA are AA, A, B, C, D, and E. All other events are AA, A, B, C, and D.
RV Facilities: RV parking facilities are available with water, electricity, and showers for $15.00 per night. Free coffee and rolls every day for all shooters. Please register when you check in at the club.
